xviper-I should call you Mcgyver!!! This is a great idea as I was very skeptical about letting someone weld in my pan and the down time to get it done would drive me crazy!!! Thanks for everything, Phil

PS....off this subject what do you think of dumping the cat conv. and go to a test pipe?

This is just my opinion but I'm not a real fan of removing the cat on this car. I have on other cars but this cat has 2 important characteristics:
1) It's already one of the most free flowing cats there is. Even an aftermarket high flow one won't benefit this car much. AND 2) There are too many reports of test pipes giving CEL's. There is a way around it but I can't justify the extra few HP for all the hassle. You can weld an extension to lift the O2 sensor further away from the really hot high speed exhaust flow or you can electronically fool the ECU. (Besides, if my wife found out, she'd kick my ass for hurting the enviro. Oh well, at least she didn't lambaste me for buying the S/C.)

The supercharger is envriomentally friendly! I take it you have your Vortech kit, and that you are in the process of putting it on. Please let me know of any idiosyncrasy or anything you think should be altered that may come up on your install. I'm going to leave the cat alone. I have enough projects going on the car to keep me busy for awhile. I can't wait to get my "package"!! Phil

You may have your kit on and running before I'm done. I'm only planning to do a small part each week till winter is over.
I've already noticed that they didn't supply me with enough wire taps but no biggie, I can get my own. But I'll put you on my "buddy" list so I can easily PM you if I discover anything that might interest you. When it yours due to be operational?

Very interesting. This is my approach to the thin wall problem. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290769761&idx=6 I have the luxury of a spare pan.

I haven't recieved my kit yet, so I should be getting it on the next weekend after it arrives. As you may know I am not capable of doing this install myself so I am having it done, but I will be there "supervising"!!! Did all the parts on the list come? Did you get the satin or polished? I got the satin to save a few bucks. I am really getting serious about this clutch situation as my friend went Comptech on his S2000 and it slipped his stock clutch badly. What do you think of the ACT HSI HD00? Thanks Phil

Sideways-That is the most beautiful oilpan I have ever seen! Professional looking job, I must say. I wish you offered a service where I could send you my pan, you do that mod and send it back! For$$$ of course! I don't think there is a a welding shop I would trust for that kind of work here in town. Although I would like my pan like that, I will probably have to go xviper's route with the reinforcement nut. Thanks Phil

I don't have my "numbers" down pat on this clutch but IF and when mine goes, I plan to get the ACT street clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate.
The need for a new clutch depends on the condition of it at the time you get the S/C. "jerrypeterson" still uses his stock clutch and has no problems with it on his Comptech. My clutch is still acting perfectly right now and I'll not worry about it till it starts to go. If you beef up your clutch too much, other stuff down stream will begin to break (like the rear diff, CV joints, etc.) I look at the clutch as a kind of "buffer" to cushion the power delivery somewhat so the rest of the car won't break so easily. When it comes time to do the clutch, I'll do that myself too and hopefully I'll find a better way around it than removing the S/C.

I too, will be recieving my Vortech kit within weeks, so if you have a network of PM information sharing, I would like to be included..
Even though our car has only 3k miles, I think I too will be looking at a clutch replacement..I dont like the idea of spending the cash when I have so many other things going on with the car, but its better to be safe than sorry later on when the weather gets nice...
THanks again for the information. You guys rock.
