Default Noises from oem clutch

If you change the oem clutch from a 2000 s and replace with the newer improved clutch assembly would you still get that whining noise. Also how many s2000 owners that own a 2000 year model have problems with second gear

Your post is useless - put more information in your header - you can redo it now if you wish.

Here's what Harpoon is getting at:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113399

What do you mean by "whining" noise. Are you talking about the ringing or buzzing sound you get when you decelerate from about 5000 rpm down to 2000 rpm? Or are you talking about the constant subtle whirring noise that the throw out bearing tends to make all the time?

I have a 2000 car. I'm the original owner. I have no problems with any of the gears. If you're talking about the "notchiness" or possibly the ocassional grind into 2nd, it may be a driver technique issue or a 2nd gear syncro issue. Not knowing how you drive, it's really hard to tell.

I would suggest that in future, when you ask a question, it would be extremely useful if you included as much detail as possible so that those reading your questions don't have to do the "20 questions" thing like I just did. Most people will just ignore you if you don't provide sufficient details. In fact, most people will just ignore you if you just put "Question" in your title.

This is the well known and often reported "clutch decel buzz". Honda had a TSB on this and they would replace your clutch disc if the noise was too much of an annoyance. Your car may be out of warranty, so it may not apply to you.

Changing the clutch disc has not ensured that the noise goes away. Many have reported that the noise started to return within days or weeks of the clutch job being done.

It's just a noise and has no affect on the operation of the car. It's starts in the transmission due to the characteristic backlash found there. This begins as a vibration that finds its way to the clutch disc where it vibrates the disc springs. It is the springs that make the noise you hear.

Putting in a new disc may or may not resolve this buzz.
