RB26DETT would not fit. Butttt, RB25DET and SR20DET should be able to fit with hardcore modification.
Imagine the torque that would produce.

Didn't the preproduction S2000 (SSM) have an inline 5 cylinder?

>> Not to mention, I think the NSX engine is not significantly longer than the S2000 engine, if at all. It is wider, obviously, but I don't think the extra two feet of space would be needed.

Just for fun information, assuming that Edmunds info is correct... the NSX is only 2.4 inches wider than the S2K... it doesn't seem right? My next door neighbor has an NSX, maybe we can break out a measuring tape .

Isn't the NSX engine turned 90 degrees? IE, doesn't it sit like a FWD car does, just in the rear?

Not to mention that having the engine closer to the fire wall contributes to the 50/50 handling.

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner . . .

I heard they shaved a cylinder for balance, but then they could have made the wheel base an inch longer . . . also the 5 would not have turned as fast, they figured they could get their power goal out of a 4 banger, and they did.

Well...volvo, saab, and audi had plenty of success with their 5 cylinders....my winter beater is an Audi 200 Trubo...Turbo charged Inline 5....runs very smooth actually, just needs a new turbo (which i can get for $150)!!!
