Default Odd VSA/throttle issue

Recently purchased an 07 s2000. was told it had no problems, but things have since gone awry. Car goes into limp mode, and will not rev beyond 4k RPM's. sometimes on startup, the pedal will not work at all, although restarting the car with the gas depressed slightly will alleviate this. Throwing a CEL, and VSA code. Codes are listing as ECM/PCM communication malfunction(I believe), and a bad accelerator position sensor(switch E low voltage), which is what all threads I have found relating to this issue stop at. I replaced the accelerator sensor, and nothing changed. located switch E in the plug, and it is reading at half of all of the rest of the switches in the plug (2.6/7 at WOT compared to 4.6/7 at WOT). Checked this on both AAP sensors, and both tested the same way, so I feel that has been ruled out. any ideas on what to try next? If at all possible, I would like to keep from replacing the VSA module itself. any advice or tips you can give are greatly appreciated, as I'm pretty new to Honda's.

Codes are as follows:
83-1 ABS
Engine control module (ECM) /powertrain control module (PCM) relation malfunction

P2127 ENG
Throttle /pedal position sensor /switch E circuit low input

I bought it from a private party.

have you checked ABS connectors? 83 code is caused by bad connection at terminal, wire or poor fitment. I had it when I forgot to reconnect ABS

also have you cleaned the code after you install the new throttle position sensor?

try to reset ECU and see if the problem occurs again. You won't go into limp mode if everything is ok

Will check all connections tonight. Am I looking for corrosion, or just loose wiring?

Update: all connections are good. I cleaned the map sensor, and the problem went away entirely for the last week, but unfortunately has come back on. No leaking brake fluid, no other problems to speak of.

Cleaning the MAP sensor well is almost impossible imo. It's such a small sensor tube that even a small buildup of carbon can eff it up really bad. A lot of time when you use carb cleaner or whatever, it breaks it down enough to clear a passage, but the wet carbon then finds another area to gum up again.

Unfortunately, you can't buy a MAP sensor separate from Honda, they lump it in with the entire throttle body

I would suggest buying one off of a part-out. Also, try cleaning the IAC while you're in that area.

07s have DBW and don't have an IAC.

New MAP sensor has fixed it again. apparently there was some type of a recall-ish thing on them? I'm just confused as to why a MAP sensor would throw those codes for VSA and the pedal sensor.Either way, thanks to everyone who's posted, this has been a nice first experience with the forum.

I believe the MAP sensor specific recall was actually the connector to the MAP sensor didn't have a good connection. So the fix was a "zip tie" looking thing that that went around the sensor case and the connector so that it would press the connector into the sensor a little more snug for a better connection.

Glad to hear your issue is fixed.
