Default Ohm range of fuel tank level indicator?

Anyone know the Ohm range of fuel tank level indicator?

Thanks

Float Position / Resistance (ohms) / Height (mm)

F / 11 - 13 / 82.9
1/2 / 52 - 58 / 154.2
LOW / 114.4 - 120.4 / 215.5
E / 130 - 132 / 222.8

(Measured between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminal side of male terminals.)

Wow, I didn't actually expect an answer like this! Awesome! I don't know that much about electronics beyond hooking up guages, and simple sensors. What does "Measured between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminal side of male terminals" mean exactly?

There are 4 wires going to the fuel pump, I assume that one is power, one is ground, and I assume the last two are related to the fuel level indicator, right? Have you messed around with this clip? Does the manual identify which wires are which?

I installed a fuel cell in my car, and I would like to figure out a way to get the fuel level indicator to work with stock. I think it is a 0-90 ohm sensor.. so when it's empty it would probably show 1/4 of fuel left or something.

Thanks!!

Chris

Yes, there are 4 wires going "TO" the pump, but on the pump side of the harness (male), there should be 5 pins. I don't know what the fifth pin is for. I haven't looked that closely, only to separate the harness when putting in the Vortech fuel pump. On the 4 pin side, PIN 1 and 2 are the BLK and YEL/BLK wires. You want to hook up the ohmeter to these corresponding pins on the male side (on the pump).
If you look head-on into the open harness on the pump side, the little "out-dent" should be on top, with the 2 angled sides next to the flat bottom. In this configuration, PIN 1 and 2 are the top left pin and the top middle pin. It is these two that you take the reading. Good luck.

OK, next question is that I have a 0-90ohm fuel level output from the fuel cell. My buddy tells me that I need to get an electrical engineer to figure out how to convert 0-90 ohm to a 0-130 ohm range.. thoughts?

The other two wires must be the ground and power to the fuel pump, right?

Thanks again!

Chris

Now you're into uncharted territory for me. "Modifry" would be your man for this sort of thing.

As for the other wires, I believe you are correct in your statement.
