sorry to hijack this old thread, but i found the cap, i wasn't able to take it out yet.
i tried to get at it with a hanger, but no success.
i did get a new oil cap though...

but now, i'm experiencing significant vibration in my clutch pedal.
could this be from the oil cap getting jammed in something down there?
or would this be caused from something else?

i guess i'll need to get this on a lift and try to go at it from below.

Where do you get your info from???

The oil cap WILL NOT come out on its own, that's a proven fact. I also posted it a few posts up. It has to be fished out from the top with a coat hanger. It is on top of the trans bell housing most likely.

And yes you will have all sorts of noises and vibrations, including through the clutch pedal, if you don't fish the cap out of there.

Anecdotal evidence when it happened to me, drove down some curvy back roads and heard something clank and fall from the bottom of the car, but I did have worn motor mounts at the time so the engine shaking may have contributed to it falling. Worse still, I drove around with the cap off. I only realized something was up when I was smelling oil all up in the cabin when I turned the A/C on. Luckily I only lost about 150ml of oil on my 22 mile drive.

Lost mine also many year ago. It became wedged between the transmission and tunnel behind the firewall. Put the car up on a lift and fished around for it. Could see it with a flashlight from the engine compartment by looking back on the top of the transmission.

Sooo, my turn for this mess.

Got a new cap to drive it back home but I have some noise at around 2-3krpm. Im guessing the cap fell in somewhere.
Anyone got any pointers on how to get it out? Perhaps paint me a picture of how you bent your coat hanger to fish it out?

Anything else?
