Oil near gasket on front of engine
Hey guys, I had some oil smudge near the circled area a few months ago and I simply thought it was from me changing te filter so I sparyed some degreaser and washed it off. Two days ago I was changing the oil again and I found that the oil smudge (I call it a smudge b/c its not much oil just enough to make it brown and trap some dirt.) is back. Is there an issue with my gasket? I have hardly any oil consumption as I check every 2 weeks and my oil level is always full.
Should I go and get this checked out at a shop?

These engines tend to have a porus casting in that area and some seep is visable on many engines... just clean it off when it bothers you.
The timing chain gallery is behind that surface and it is not where you would see a head gasket problem.

Yeah I noticed it today as I have oil on the sides from a leaky valve cover gasket. I don't think it ran to the front though so most likely the porous issue others have had. I will wipe down, replace valve cover gasket and see if it continues.
