Oil pressure sensor relocation
I'm gathering parts for my oil pressure/temperature gauge install. I've been doing some reading on relocating the oil pressure sensor (the new one for the gauge, not the factory one) away from the block using some stainless steel oil line to prevent damage to the sender.
My question: if I'll be using a oil filter block adaptor (similar to Slows2k's picture here) to attach the oil pressure sensor, is relocating the sensor necessary (or just a good idea)?
And if it is a good idea to relocate the sensor, where can I find a short (pre-assembled) stainless steel line to use.

I recommend a remote mount. It will eliminate the possibility of a catastrophic failure if the sender breaks off from vibration. Pre-made hose assemblies are available - search around the S2000 specialty sites.

I used the following to connect to my Greddy block adapter, all from summit racing:
ITEM: EAR-320104ERL A/F -4 HOSE TO 1/8 NPT
Price: $10.69 EACH
QTY: 2
ITEM: RUS-632000 PROFLEX HOSE #4-3'
PRICE: $15.95
QTY: 1
ITEM: RUS-661440 COUPLER FEMALE 1/8" NPT
PRICE: $3.88
QTY: 1
The hose and the two EAR-320104 fittings get put together and give you a 3 foot hose with 1/8th NPT male threads on each end. The RUS-661440 adapter converts one of those ends to 1/8th NPT female threads so you can screw in your pressure sender. The remaining male end can be attached to the block adapter. You will either need to tap the threads on the block adapter to 1/8th NPT or find the proper metric fitting. I re-tapped the threads.

Seems like I have a need to mount the oil pressure sensor .
After checking over the linked install thread from CoralDoc, I did note that the oil pressure sensor was mounted higher than the oil supply line. This should allow air into that line (when the car is off and oil drains back into the pan) and invalidate readings, correct? If that's what happens, I'll need to mount the oil pressure sensor and stainless steel line lower than the oil filter block adaptor to get the line filled with oil (to read the correct pressure). Sound reasonable?

That sounds reasonable, but in practice it is unnecessary. I have a remote-mount oil sender in my Miata positioned about 9" above where the hose attaches to the block and it has caused no problems. Most other installations that I have seen on Miatas, S2000s and other cars have the sender higher than the attachment point and they all work well.
