I have this code. I do not know what it means. My car is runing like crap after 6krpms. If i go to wot it just rev's as if it was in netural. It does not putter or any thing like that just a loss of power.

what year do you have?

what mods have you done to possibly induce this concern?

are you sure that is the only code?

 

the first thing I'd check is my gas cap. Did you possibly leave you gas cap loose for at least two trips? This code sets when a failure is detected by the evap monitor for system leakage on two different drive cycles. You must have some sort of leak in your evap system or the gas cap was simply left of.

Clear the code, tighten your gas cap, and do a quick visual inspection of the fuel tank lines/filler neck/evap vapor tubes.

The monitor does not run every drive cycle. Certain conditions have to be met for the monitor to run, so after you clear the code it may not reappear for some time.

 

gas cap.. i had it on my car a few years back. i changed my gas cap and it went away.

 

the only Mod I have 2002 with a v2 cai. Before I had the gas cap prob but a check engine light cam on. This time no light. I wll have to look under my car tommarow and see if any thing is messed up.
