have a tech question (it pertains to my daily beater). The car (a 97 jetta) has 55k on it and is "spitting/sputtering" during part throttle when the RPM's are low (under 2000). Does anyone know what could be causing this problem, i replaced the plugs and air cleaner last weekend and it is still doing it. Thanks in advance!!

Does it sputter when you go up a hill without downshifting or giving more gas? If so, it's probably a secondary ignition problem. Most likely a open spark plug wire or a carbon tracked distributor cap. Finish your tune up by changing the wires, cap and rotor. Changing the fuel filter is also a good idea.

Could it be the fact that it's a VDub? Just kidding; I'm stumped!
