Default Question about removing the head

The Helm manual states that you need to remove the camshaft in order to take the cylinder head off. Does anyone know for a fact that this is necessary? I've never had to remove the camshafts before on any other Honda I've worked on.

Thanks.

Yes it is true. The headstuds are under the camshafts so cams, rockers, and chain tensioner have to come off first.
Drain 1/2 of the coolant too.

Anytime boss

Oh yeah, you will need a special size screw to remove the chain tensioner mechanism, so check the helm for the exact spec.

Don't forget to mark the crank, chain, and cams to make your life easier on the reinstall.
