Default question concerning strength of rear gears

I bought 4.77's about a year ago from J's and now I'm reading all about these 4.57's and how they are sooooo much stronger. It kinda makes me feel like I got ripped off. Is it really something to be concerned about? I mean, I don't do many clutch drops (if any) and I rarely bring it all the way up to 9k. During high RPM driving I'll usually shift around 8200-8600. Just how weak are the 4.77's?

The 4.77's are just as strong as the stock gears. The bottom line is that the stock gears and the 4.77's are probably not quite as strong as they should have been for our car, which is what Rick tried to rectify since he had some input into the 4.57 gears. So what you have is just as strong as what you would have had if you had not swapped your gears. Therefore, you should not feel ripped off.

Someone sold you a product that was apparently "state-of-the-art" at the time. Someone later what may (or may not) be a better product, and you use the term "feel like I gotripped off?"

Honda has obviously made you "feel like you got ripped you off" when they introduced the '02 with a glass window and the '04 with more displacement.

Man, you're 'feeling like you got ripped off" all over the place.

Give him a break! He didn't say he was ripped off! Read the words "It kinda makes me feel like I got ripped off." This is an emotional statement, not an accusation.
