Default Question on Mingster Aeroscreen Install

I recently purchased a Mingster's Aeroscreen but have held off on the installation. I've seen Marks2k's thread (w/pictures) of the install but would like to know if the lid of the secret compartment can be easily removed to make the install a little easier? I'm having trouble getting a drill aligned with the 'pre-positioned' holes in the secret compartment.

Any help on the install would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Michael

Open the lid fully.

Hold your drill with the handle facing the sky.

Use a small bit to drill pilot holes.

Close the lid.

Drill the correct size hole through the pilot holes from the top.

Leaves a neat hole.

Fits perfectly.

No point removing the lid.

Naishou,
Thanks for the information. I'll give your method a try.

Mingster,
It is not really a problem . . . i was having trouble getting my drill into position - - - i was concerned about the drill bit 'walking' and not having the holes properly lined-up. I'll take Naishou's advice.

Regards,
Michael

That method works great. I was also concerned about leaving drill marks all over the top of the compartment but once you have the pilot hole from the bottom it's gravy! Good luck.
