Radiator Flush: Worth it to DIY?

on a side note, how difficult is it to remove the thermostat with these cars?
My teacher at uti told us we could run CLR through the block to clean it. Flush that out with distilled water and put the recommended antifreeze back in.
I haven't tried it, he says he has, hes actually ran the car with it in the cooling system for a couple days to really make sure it cleaned the system.
Idk if ill ever do it, but its something to research and possibly do?

and another thing, my car almost has 100k miles and my cooling system works phenomenal, my operating temp is consistently normal and my fans barely, barely, barely turn on. I think ive herd it turn on 4 times this whole summer and that was in stand still traffic.
