Real-Time OBD-II Data Viewing/Logging

I got an e-mail from Alex and it cleared up some stuff. I just hooked it to the car and I got it now. He could really lighten his e-mail load by upgrading his documentation

Since the source code is available, it is possible that it could be compiled for a Palm or Pocket PC. I don't have a Palm or Pocket PC, so I wouldn't be able to test it. If somebody gets a Pocket PC to me with a cable, I can make the software work (provided the hardware supports the ports, etc).

i have this same obd-2 package, and it does work great on the s2k (about 11 samples per second) if you set the parameters correctly.
under options / gateway try setting the iso-9141-2 parameters to 50/1/20 - speed 50, byte 1, message 20. you can try other settings too, what you will probably find is that it continues to get faster and faster and then suddenly gets verrrrrrry slow once you exceed certain values in each field.
also keep in mind that the more variables you watch, the slower each will be. it's 11 readings per second total, so if you watch 8 variables you only get one per second.... not too useful. i usually pick 2 at a time; rpm vs iat or load vs iat, rpm vs O2 reading is a great one when doing WOT tuning runs.
i just looked at some of my old logs and confirmed that it does indeed give about 11hz with one variable. also note that a few of the parameters count as two; primary o2 also forces you to log fuel trim, for example.
