Default Rear diff noise

If you go straight its fine...

If you turn it and lock it in a parking lot it makes noise. On regular high speed it makes no noise? Is this just the LSD maybe? Im picking up a rear diff for an awesome price but need to know this first.

How much noise are your talking about? A LSD doing its thing shouldn't make overly obtrusive noise. If it does, this is usually a sign that the wrong fluid has been used and the health and condition of the LSD may be compromised.

If you've got coverage, why not? May as well be safe than sorry. Can't really tell if you've got a problem over the net.

Like I first stated, the LSD could be going. It shouldn't be making any sort of obtrusive noises during the "figure 8" test. Can't really help you as I can't hear what you hear.
What kind of fluid have you been running in the thing? You didn't comment on this, so not much more can be said.

I have the same noise [when the steering is turned] and there is a distinct couple of clicks - it almost seems like the rear end is slipping - before it sorts out.

I have a 05 with around 8,600 miles, and have had it since new.

I do not drive agressively.

With the Torsen differential there is a gear displacement that locks the rearend up and that can make a little noise when being activated. You may hear this.

Its just the LSD groan. All diffs do it....its just doing its job.

It should be a low pitch sound....like .....grrrrroooooooaannn.

If it is, its normal.
