Default Removal of air pump=code p1415

My cel returned code p1415- current sensor voltage low,air pump electrical circuit. Well I removed my air pump a year ago while prepping my car to race, no problems until recently as my car began smoking at hi revs. My A/F ratio is rich @12.1 near 8k-9k, are these 2 issues related?

The Air pump isn't related to the engine smoking at revs. The pump only operates at cold start for less than a minute.

What PCM are you using?

PCM = ECU =Computer that's running the engine.

I'm asking because a stock PCM won't run without throwing a CEL wth the Air pump removed.

Only way to get the CEL gone is to put the air pump back. Or switch to a AEM EMS or a JDM "tuned" ECU that eliminates the emmisions controls. (Mugen, Spoon, J's )

There is no simulating the air pump to make the PCM happy and not get a CEL.

The smoking at high revs is another issue.

Does the smoking occur in hard right-hand turns? If so it may be the well-documented oil burn when oil is sucked into the intake manifold.

If the smoking occurs only a high RPMs on the straight, it is a different issue.

not sure of the exact color--pretty sure it wasnt black. most often the smoking will occur after a long fast left hander followed by a straight and a 4- 3down shift at the end of that straight, also after a long straight and a quick off throttle condition such as exiting the track quickly without a cool down lap. (plz no lectures about avoiding cool down laps)
