Default Replacing Carpet on the S

Well awhile ago one of my seats was stolen (yes just one, thieves didn't have enough time) - The passenger seat, to be exact. It took me sometime to get replacements but during this time since the S was my only means of transportation and I'd often drive it with friends who apparently had no problem sitting on the floor, lol. Well, enough sliding around and the passenger side carpet began to get wrinkled and be pulled out of place - I tried fixing it and it doesn't seem like it's going to come out perfect - now even though the seat covers it I'm pretty picky about my car and was going to purchase new passenger side floor carpet..

Sounds simple but I could feel glue and saw staples in one area where it comes together with the carpet on the back.. Is this something I should take to the dealer or is there a trick for doing it yourself? I'm sure somebody on here at one point gutted their S of carpet n all and put it back together...

Seems easy but seeing as I was unsuccessful fixing the current one I didn't want to damage nor wrinkle the new one =/

i had red carpeting replaced with balck before taking delivery of my new '04 2 years ago.

i have a brand new red carpet sitting around....let me know if you want it.

oh, and to answer your question, i think it was easy to do....the dealer did it in about an hour (i guess that makes it easy).

I've swapped interiors (my red/black for straight black) with somebody else in my garage. Including both floor mats, the center console, seats, and door panels, we did it in a day. Just the passenger carpet is a cinch. The staples aren't difficult, the glue is just for the padding, and it pulls right up. PM me if you have any specific questions.

You'll need a stubby screwdriver or a socket w/ a screwdriver tip to get the cargo netting off the tranny tunnel. Only one is hard to get to... the rest isn't too bad. You might bust some of the push-thingies that hold the carpet in place, so you might want to get some ahead of time just in case.

Those can be a beyatch at times to remove, I recommend something like side cutters. You wedge the blades underneath the tabs then pull up. Really helps remove them without tearing them up.
