Default Rocker arm assembly removal

I'm working on replacing head gasket, but stuck with the rocker arm assembly. After removing cam and cam caps the rocker arm assembly doesn't even budge a little.
Did some search online and found that some dowel pins are holding some, so I use a rubber mallet and tried to tap them loose, but nothing happened. I even used a wrench to pry, still stuck.

I've attached a photo, thanks for any suggestion.

I usually use a large phillips screwdriver that is just about the size of the holes where the bolts go through and insert it almost all the way and do a side to side rocking motion on each section to pop them loose. This will prevent damaging of the threads in the head and possible damage to the cam journals and/or rockers/rollers.

I've used this method on every S2000 where I've needed to remove the rocker assemblies (about 30 or so times now) and have had nothing but success. Good luck.

Due to the orientation of you picture, it'd be a front/back rocking motion. (side to side if facing the engine from the front)

You can also use two Philips screwdrivers, and squeeze them together making a handle that is locked to the cam cap

A short ended right angle prybar (must use care and discretion here as to not mar any aluminum surfaces) will pry the assembly up with ease. Do one end, then the other.

Cool

Thanks for your suggestion, I used two screwdrivers, one lay on the block, put another on the top and use it as prybar. The assembly came off instantly. I also use some rag in between to further protect the block.
