My AP1 made this similar ticking sound intermittently. Some days I wouldn't hear it, on others it would come back. I had injectors professionally cleaned and the sound never came back.

my S has this noise too. it could be minor knock, maybe wrist pin.

cleaning the injectors doesn't sound like bad idea, mine has 210,000 miles on it, i guess i could try new injectors.
