If anything, the Japanese drive slower than the average US driver. There's not nearly as much open road and the speed limits are generally lower.

That "high-speed European driving style" excuse Honda used to deny US owners the oil cooler TSB isn't holding up very well in this case.

Honda needs to release the US recall notice very shortly.

I looked at the web site. This recall is for the spark plug problem. Can someone that reads kanji look at this?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi, I think I should explain the JDM recall as I posted it...

It says exactly the same thing as US TSB. Due to unmatched combination of gasket of spark plug and the engine, spark plug will be loosen under high rotation/vibration. Further running under such condition will lead Engine warning light up, and for severe case, short circuit of ignition coil will appear because of the leaked combustion gas and engine will be stopped and damaged.

Solution:
(a) Exchange with the 'measured' spark plugs
(b) Inspect and exchange any damage caused to the cylinder, ignition coil, etc (I didn't follow the #4 cylinder problem as I'm new to the site, but may or may not related to the spark plug. But if it's really the case, should be able to get it fixed too.)

Thanks Peter. So it sounds like only Europe gets the oiljet bolt fix for problems unknown. Strange.

Boiler, folks,

We have yet to hear from asia or the Americas regarding the bolt replacement. Don't count it out yet, but clearly they'll deal (or not deal) with it separately from the plugs. Patience???
