Should I buy this car !??
I am looking at a s2000 the previous owner said there was low oil and it apparently spun the rod bearings, is this motor rebuild able ? What kinda cost can I expect and anything I can check to make sure the damage is limited to rod bearings ??

Very hard to rebuild these engines, when you consider the costs and effort it takes you're almost better off getting another engine. The crank is rare and hard to find and you rarely see it go for less than $900. The crank can be repaired if it's lightly marred, otherwise you have to weld material on it, then machine it to specs, but if you go that route you can't use OEM bearings.
If the crank is undamaged (taking a huge gamble) then yes plastigauging and selecting the correct bearing and you can save it. You can only go one bearing size thicker before the manual recommends replacing the crank. Of course it says nothing about any other damage that may have been done.

Considering it's about $3,200 - 3,600 for a replacement engine +$900 for the install I'd say yeah. The question is are you willing to go that far?
