Default Single click from rear of car

Is it correct that the axle nut TSB is like a multiple clicking noise over and over? Or can it be like a single loud click when starting from a stop?

I was getting a very faint click whenever I would back out of a parking spot, and then put it in first gear and start moving forward, when the momentum of the car went from backwards to forwards, I would hear a click. I originally thought it was just the prop shaft changing directions. But now it's starting to get much louder and does it when just starting from a stop as well.

I'll try to get a video if nobody knows what I'm talking about. It sounds like it's coming from the driver side rear wheel area, but that could just be me, because I'm never on the passenger side lol

I would say 99% it's the axle nuts. When mine started doing that, sometimes it would be one click, sometimes a few. Follow the DIY and never have to listen to that crap again.

I believe I am having the same issue. Could it be this?

Problem: Clicking noise from rear when moving in first gear or reverse. Sounds like two metal marbles.
Solution: Honda use to torque the axle nuts to 180 lbs. The correct torque is now 230 lbs. Torque your axle nuts.

I have the same issue despite retorquing my axle nut the noise still frequents. I've torque them on several occasions from 230lbs to 290lbs. I have also replaced my bearing (its was making a humming noise @ 110k) and the clicking noise is still there. I suspect the problem lies within the axle joint that attaches to the hub. I'm going to get them rebuild within the following week. after having my car on a lift and driving it in first gear while suspended in the air the clicking noise still occurred-my mechanic said the noise is centralized to the axle joint that meets the hub.

ill keep you updated to see if this is a fix.

I'm hoping billman can comment on this, as i have been unable to conventional fix the clicking noise via the retorque method.

I have a loud single click in first or reverse occasionally. I need to do the axle TSB but don't have a 36mm socket or breaker bar large enough to apply the needed torque. :-\

This link sounds like what I'm referring to https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/392...clicking-rear/

Thanks Nemi. Strangely enough, the last couple days I've started noticing a thumping sound coming from the same place, gets more frequent the faster I go, sounds like a bald spot on the tire, but there's not vibration (that I notice at least) it just makes a weird 'thump thump thump thump' noise 100% of the time that I'm moving.

I need to start reading through that thread, there's 17 pages in there though so I haven't found what the fix is yet lol

Read this on the last page of that link posted above by Voodoo S2K

Clicking when changing drive direction (reverse to forward) is an axle nut issue. Clicking while shifting going in one direction generally isn't an axle nut issue.
I have both technically, change of direction AND starting from a stop. But I'm gonna assume it's the same thing.
