36MM, or 1 7/16 works great also. You'll also need a punch shaped to un-stake the nut, and another blunt chisel to re-stake it.

As of now, I've got two guys who may have bad bearings from leaving it unattended. We'll see how it goes after Saturday.

Don't use the helms. It was 180ft/lb but now it's 220ft/lb.

This may be a stupid question, but where is the axle nut? What does it look like?

I have this same clicking noise when starting to move, too.

OT: Could this same symptom be seen/heard in a 95 Accord (from the front wheels, obviously)? I've got a click as I let my clutch out, but I was thinking it was something with the clutch or tranny, because it doesn't just occur when I first start out, it does it pretty much any time I let the clutch out. Plus, I have some hella bad clutch chatter sometimes (though the clutch never slips).

Factory clutch, 172K miles. Used to be my parents' car... they said the chatter has occurred as long as they can remember. Never asked 'em about the click, because I assumed it's related.

Great picture of it here (as well as the procedure for loosening/tightening it). It's referred to as the spindle nut in that thread.

Update....the bearing is ok, but the hub is shot. Leaving the nut loose for a prolonged time has allowed the inner bearing race to spin on the hub. The hub has worn down about .008 and the once press fit race is now sloping around on the hub.

I'd urge all s2k owners to tend to the alxe nuts now

Scroll down to VFROOOMs post.

Click Me

You'll probably have to print it out to read it better. Heres more....

It isn't a TSB, but something less official called a Technical Service Note, #011201, the page image VFROOOM posted above.
