Question so i decided to test the gear calculator

From what I understand, an over-rev/missed shift = no good

If it's an AP2 (looks like it from your sig), you may be OK if you kept the mechanical peak rev down (search for threads, but something like 10K comes to mind). The AP2 gives additional margin and as far as I know doesn't exhibit the valve retainer cracking issue. A compression and leakdown test may be in order.

ya there are plenty of members with 2.2l and redlining at 9 daily with now problems.

no the oil does not need to be drained to take the valve cover off

There have also been several 2.2L's tracked at 9k all day long that pitch connecting rods.

How is it a "Mis-shift" You rev matched to go into 3rd and you did.

If you were "bouncing" off the rev-limiter.....then you obviouly HIT the rev limiter.

According to Billman, an F22C will bend the exhaust valves first, and will never stretch the retainers like the F20C, and if you'd bent an exhaust valve the car would not be running properly.

Is it running OK?
If so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
