I replaced plugs, coils, injectors, map sensor, TPS, IACV, O2 Sensor and still had the problem. My problem has since gone away - only two things it could be are adjusting the valves (mine were a little on the tight side), and running some fuel treatment/boost additive. Ended up putting in a test pipe and my problem has not come back yet.

What could cause a dead spot in the pedal during deceleration? If it has the same dead spot during acceleration I just cant feel it. Laurent where did you get your TPS from?

Is it a dead-spot you feel with your foot, or one you measure with a meter or from logging the OBDII?

If it is physically felt - I would say your throttle cable or TB is binding. If it is something you are able to measure (a voltage?) - it may be a capacitive issue where a charge does not dissipate as quickly as it builds up.

^^ did you pull the intake and plug the two idle air ports to see if the car would stall?

Another note is that the dead spot is on both ends of the pedal accel/decel I just couldnt feel it since the spot was at throttle tip. I'm going to find a TPS. My idle issues are fixed as far as I'm concerned. I think it was a combination of IAC and the evap purge solenoid. Not ruling out the MAP had a little something to do with it.

AGAIN - in feel do you mean feel with your foot, feel from a accel/decel perspective?

If you feel it in your foot I would look at your after market TB.

Hey, sorry to come to the party late but my wife took her S to the dealer today with the same problem. It's a MY 2000 with 45 K. It does seem to be worse when it's hot and humid. We got stuck in a bumper to bumper crawl on the interstate last week and it bucked until you pressed the clutch and revved it out of it.

The following is what they wrote on the invoice;

CUSTOMER STATES ENGINE SEEMS TO STUMBLE WHEN MOVING AWAY FROM A STOP (warmed up)

CAUSE; NORMAL FOR S2000, NO UNUSUAL DRIVING CHARECTERISTICS, ENGINE TEST DROVE,CHECKS OK AT THIS TIME

47503 NORMAL FOR S2000

(N/C)

I talked to the service writer later and I don't think we were on the same page because the tech told him it's the nature of the beast having no torque at low RPM's. No codes came up and they said the test drive has normal.

What is my next step? He told me they would look at anything that I print off to show them. My extended warranty runs out soon.

Thanks Denny

When my car acts up I can easily repeat it. With the car warmed up - give it a little throttle (to about 1500-2000 rpm), hold it there for a couple of seconds and it will start to sound like it is missing (stuttering). Slowly give it some throttle and it will fall on its face.

lol ^^ Honda tech's are retarded usually. They rarely see an S2000 so they are clueless as to problems such as this. Take it back tell them to run the procedure to check the IAC(Idle Air Control) and to also check the evaporator purge solenoid. Tell them to put on paper what they find, when you get that paper download the service manual find all the specifications and check to see if they actually did what you told them to do. If not go somewhere else or call and complain.

i went to honda and told them i wanted a purge solenoid thinking thats what it was called but the purge solenoid is another part of the evap system.

went a picked up the part today and found out it was something different, instead of it going to cost 108$ its now 142$

i really like the car but im not interested in throwing money at it
could you provide me with a part # or perhaps a picture please? i'd like to check mine out.
