Default SRS light stays on

After removing the hardwire kit for my valentine, my SRS light now stays on. Is this normal?

no, something was damaged or a wire was cut/damaged. you need to find and isolate the problem and correct it.

The dealer can read the SRS code and tell you where the fault is coming from.

I had a SRS light on for 2 years (after I installed my 4 pt roll cage) I was able to get someone at the dealer read it for m recently.

I then found the fault (crimped wire on the passenger seat belt assy) and fixed it

theres a way to reset it manually if you search the forum, but if you don't know why its on then fix the problem before resetting it.

This is true.

There is also a way to check your SRS DTC to help isolate your problem without just reseting it first. There's a brief explanation near the bottom of the "ultimate check engine light" thread. Although the SRS is not the CEL, you can use the SCS method of retrieving your SRS DTC.
