I will be taking my original and getting it sandblasted, then when my new one goes bad, I am all set to swap another one in.

sandblasting is a great option if you're faced with having to buy a new one.

Does this fix the problem forever or does the noise eventually return even with sandblasted gears ?

I'm on my first replacement TCT, the noise has yet to return but it is something that everyone will eventually face at some point in time. Thanks for the info on this.

What is sandblasting, and where can I have it done? Sorry, never had to 'sandblast' anything before.
