tranny #diff from engine#

tranny #diff from engine#

well my engine number starts with 10153.... and my tranny number is 102653..... my question is aren't these to numbers supposed to be the same? Or are s2k's differrent.. I Have MY01.

Tranny and cyl head VIN should match the car.

so is there a way to see with the number on my tranny what year it's from?

There is a bar code white label on the trans, take the number down and give it to the parts guy at Honda. The parts guy can look the number up and tell you the year

The VIN# won't match the engine #.

The VIN on the Trans should match the VIN of the car, or it's been swapped. Any honda dealer can run the VIN
# and get the MY it came from.
