Tranny & Engine Help
5th and 6th won't work if the car is at idle, off, high speed, etc. I know I don't need 5th but my 6th also doesn't work so I'm only using 1st-4th and is eating gas like crazy. Only use it for a week or so since I really needed a car and my e30 I'm changing the seals on the tranny.
Now the tranny is making a pop noise and is coming from the tranny. Tranny still works great from 1st-4th though. I know I probably mess up the tranny more but I'd figure it didn't matter since it needs replacement anyways. Looking into getting an late AP2 F22c tranny since I'm changing it.
Davidc1. I've been doind that for a while but still both gears won't engage. Actually 6th kinda goes in a bit but it throws it out. I try to hold it but it just starts to grind.

If you bring your car to the track at all, consider staying with an AP1 tranny. Most consider the gear ratios better for many tracks. For example, on all the tracks in my area, using an AP1 reduces the amount of shifts into 5th gear at least twice per track. Thats probably a half sec per lap there...
