When I first got my Stook, the thing that got most of my attention was the transmission (since I could not run the car hard for 600 miles). It seemed the throws were very short and that 1-2 feeling that most transmissions have between gears was non-existant. You know, when the shift drags in the neutral position before "snicking" into the next gear (I call it synchronizer drag, but I'm not sure what it is at all). Every car I've ever owned had it, but the Stook did not, not even a little. As a matter of fact, because of this, I was always second guessing myself thinking that maybe I didn't get it all the way in gear, the very short throw only served to emphasize my uneasiness. But after a couple of days I got used to it and LOVED it. Now guess what? It's gone. Yep, my tranny feels just like all the rest, much to my dismay. Dont' get me wrong, I feel it is the best transmission I've ever laid my hand on, but I wish I could get the old "feel" back.

Having run-on for a solid minute I'll get to my question now...hehe. Is this normal? Do transmissions break-in? As far as I'm concerned it's a cruel joke, I really liked the way it felt when it was new. I don't have anything to back it up, but I feel that the throws were signifigantly shorter. Too bad. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Mine still feels the same as new, but I have noticed I shift much faster. Sort of makes it feel a little different.
