Trunk Lid Swapping
I recently purchased a Feels wing from another member who is local to me. To make things easier on both of us, we have chosen to just trade trunk lids (both silverstone) to avoid having to drill into my lid and fill the holes in his lid.
So I began thinking that doing this may present some problems such as voiding my being able to use my key in the trunk and the same for the other member. So I am posting to get others experiences in swapping lids and locksets from trunk to trunk. Easy? Whats involved? any pointers from anyone?
Any help is appreciated!

simply remove the keylock mechanism and swap it into your new lid... if that way you both will retain the ability to unlock with the key. There is 2 bolts that hold it in and 2 wire harness clips that are for the brake light ect... takes about 20min to remove trunk and dissassemble lock... pretty straight forward.
Agreed. Just swap out the components including the actual lock assembly for the key. Pay close attention to the rods that attach the lock assembly to the the actual latch.
I took pictures so I could reference them when attaching it to the new trunk lid.
Fairly simple procedure.
