Trunk Release in Glove Box is Broken
Hello,
I recently bought a 2005 s2000 and I realized that the trunk release that is located in the glove box doesn't work. Both the key and the fob on the key work, so I think that it is an electrical issue somewhere before the trunk release motor but I have no idea how to find out what is broken. Any suggestions? Thanks!

More likely than not the issue lies in the wire bundle in the trunk. Many posts on this over the years. The wire bundle eventually cracks and shorts out at the point where the bundle is flexed when the trunk is opened and closed.
I would check the integrity of those wires first.
I personally have not had this problem with my S but when my old 2004 MDX suddenly lost the rear camera, I took the hint and discovered the issue is not restricted to the S2000.

FYI, modifry has detailed a mod so glovebox trunk switch only works if key is on. Maybe PO did this mod?
See if it works if you turn key on all the way.
Idea is security. So someone can't get in trunk unless they have the key (and you're too lazy to lock glovebox door with key).

The switch? Seems the least likely culprit, and super easy to test before blindly ordering new one.
Unplug switch. Paperclip the two wires in plug. Trunk solenoid pops switch = diagnosis confirmed. No pop = switch not the problem.
You could also ohmmeter the switch, but guessing you don't have one of those.
