Thanks for posting
Could you post some specifications of the Castrol oil?

IMO this is another example the F20C / F22C doesn't "get hurt" using an oil that shears down a bit.
It is, on the other hand, also another example that dino oil's DO shear.
Even after 3251 miles.

What oil are you using now?
Are you going to change it to another brand and/or synthetic?

I don't have specs with me, but I can later.

I am still using Castrol GTX but plan to switch to Amsoil at 10 or 11k, depending on when I have a free weekend and how many miles are on the car at that point

I'll probably use the ATM 10W30. I put a lot of miles on my car during vacation season (because I drive it to Michigan, TN, NC, etc from Florida more than once during the year) but other than that it doesn't see very many miles since I don't daily drive it.

I'm only planning on using Amsoil because I'm curious what the results will be. I want to stay around 5k-6k between changes and I don't think the Castrol will work the best with that OCI.. even if the 06 MMS claims it will (it doesn't monitor actual oil or anything, it's just an educated guess imo).

Otherwise, change the oil no later than 5000 miles on the next drain
I find this to be quite curious, as we've seen postings of recommendations from oil analysis that state the dino oil was still in good shape at 7500 miles.

I'd still like to see someone do an analysis on the factory fill.

Maybe Castrol GTX just sucks. It sheared quite a bit in that sample, not sure what it would look like at 7500

I could have done the factory fill, but you'd just have lots of assembly lube contamination

err.. no I mean "special additives".
