using extended lugs without spacer. will it work?
i have my hub off right now so it would be more convenient for me to put on the extended studs now. the thing is i'm not sure if i'm going to need to use it. i'd like to not use a spacer because i'm going to be putting a 245 tire up front so i need the most offset i can get.
so my dilemma is either leave it as is now, and possibly find out that i may need a larger spacer than 5mm and then have to put it extended lugs..or put the extended lugs on now, but find out that i dont need them and have the wheel pushed out toward the fender more when i need the most clearance i can get.
so would it be possible to use stock lug nuts on the extended studs? i'm worried that doing that will put more stress on the studs if it does fit and that would be scary on the track! i guess i could put a small like 3mm spacer or something and maybe it would be okay. thoughts?

The OEM nuts are cap nuts, almost like these.
So I guess longer studs won't work without a spacer.
You simply run out of nut because of the cap.
If you can find ball shaped (OEM shaped) open wheel nuts then it should work.
IF
Have a machine shop remove the cap on an OEM nut?
Or drill through and tap thread.
Bring a stud to make it easy to find the proper thread size.
Go to a trusted machine shop, you don't want your OEM nuts to be drill out too much!

it wouldnt put too much extra stress on the studs though being longer and being bolted closer to the inside? i guess not much more than if there were a spacer...
