no offense, but are you SURE that's what happens? Cause isn't it MORE dangerous to have the airbags NOT FUNCTION if you change the seats?
Removing any SRS component will set a system DTC. The airbags may or may not function as designed depending on the DTC.

The passenger side air bag is turned on and off automatically based on seat weight sensor input. If you want to keep functioning airbags, don't mess with the seats.

Personally, I'm glad the manufacturers continue to upgrade the cars. If everyone in the early days of the auto industry had the same attitude about change as some of these "they're dumbing it down " folks, we'd still be driving Model T's.

As for the radio, I'll wait until I actually get to hear one. I sat in a '05 model with the dealer installed headrest speakers. They were total POS's. I could hardly tell they were there and the car was parked on the dealers lot. I can't imagine that they'd do anything for the sound system while the car was moving down the road. It remains to be seen how the roll bar mounted speakers work.

it sounds like the way to go is the s-pods...i have heard from numerous people that the dealer headrest speakers suck. they are definitely not worth the $400. one day i'll get the s-pods, amp, head unit, sub, etc.

I dunno. I got the factory add-on speakers for my '05 and I had to drive the car for 2 weeks before they got them in stock to install for me, so I definately got the A/B on the situation. I'd have to say that having them makes a DRAMATIC difference in being able to hear the stereo clearly with the top down.

Even tonight (4 months later) when I was driving home from work with the top down I noticed how crisp and clear the sound was coming from behind my head, I know it wouldn't be nearly as good without them....

Really?

There must have been something wrong with the one I sat in because I played the system at various volume levels as well as tinkering around with the left/right balance, for/aft fader, treble and bass adjustments.

The factory headrest speakers were very weak and "muddy" sounding no matter what I did with them. The only part of that system that I'd apply the word "dramatic" to, is how little they added to the quality of the sound, especially when you consider that Honda wants for them!

Oh well, I'm glad you're happy with yours!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.
