Default Vafc2 question

Hey guys just had a quick question. Also before someone says to search I have been for hours trying to figure it out. I recently installed a used vafc2 using a boomslang harness. I intialized the unit and all the settings are set to zero. I have it set to 6in 6out and from what I can tell from the vafc setting library I have all the intial setup stuff done correctly. The car runs totally normal except for a SLIGHTLY lower then normal idle but it throws a CEL after a minute or two of driving. I reset the ecu and still getting the light after a short drive. Almost all of the info I've found so far in the library pertains the the original vafc, I was wondering if perhaps the initial settings for a vafc2 are different and that could be where it went wrong but I don't know if thats true at all. Thanks for the help!

Get the code 1st.

My best advice for VAFC and VAFCII users is to remove them and not deal with the CEL's they cause.

when i had mine in without being tuned it threw a code for a knock sensor malfunction. i removed it and the code disppeared. i guess you have to get them tuned in order for them to not throw codes.

What would be the point of having one without getting it tuned?

Ya I'm getting it tuned this weekend. I was just getting it all installed and ready to go so when the time comes we can get right to business. Everythings working fine now except my speedo randomly stopped working. So I need to go check all the connections on my yellowbox in case I wiggled something loose while messing with the boomslang harness.
