Did you check the exhaust smoke issue when you arrived at your work ?, did that issue resolve itself ?

Best to re-adjust at 30K miles, at the latest 40K.

After the first adjustment, I ran 80K and had two exhaust valves bottomed out, no gap. Lucky they didn't burn. The valve seats wear on the exhaust side and close the gap quickly is my guess. Mine go out of spec as early as 30K with spirited driving. I've done a few adjustments now, the car has 197K.

Good Luck!

Make a quality video (Iphone is better than you think, even if you have to borrow a buddies) and post to youtube, then link to here. Noise could be the TCT that you are still hearing.

Your car was totally cold (sat over night) before you adjusted or checked clearance correct?

Something in your engine sounds off to me.

My settings have held for the last 100k miles, all my customers have held for over 60k....will likely go 100k. Not even .001 adjustment needed. And I assure you I do my share of spirited driving.

When you do VA's is the exhaust side tight and intake side loose. Thats how mine was, i had to tighten intake side by .002 and loosen exhaust side by .001

Yes on the intake, usually .002 from .010 where i usually find them.

One car in over 600 had to have ONE exhaust loosened from .009 to .010.

Yours most likely had a va done before, if you are reading them correctly.
