i dont it had a VA bc it didnt even have a mtf change. i only adjusted 4 valves on exhaust side bc a .010 didnt fit without some good force. Therefore there is no way i overtightened any when i did it. Im gonna get back in there on wednesday with more feelers. wat i will do is make sure a .009 fits really easy and that a .010 is kinda snug.

Cold engine, like barely above room temp to the touch, at the block. If you're working the exhaust side, the little knuckles on the cam should point to 11 o'clock position or so. Intake side: 2 o'clock.

Is the smoke blue, white, or gray? Gray: too much fuel, ok to drive. White: antifreeze/water, watch your engine temp very close, ok for a short drive to a shop. Bluish smoke: oil, no good. Don't drive. Take out plugs, look at them. While they're out, take off serpentine belt, put a ratchet on the crank pulley and spin it clockwise (facing the car, transmission in neutral). It will have some resistance, but be close to you being able to turn pulley by hand, no weird noises.

As a distant theory, if you screwed up valve adjustment real real bad, and a valve got bent, in the process it damaged a valve guide that's now letting oil into combustion chamber. But that's really unlikely.

After doing 4 adjustments around here in AZ, I have it down to just using the 0.008i and 0.010e.

90% of valves have been tight, including mine.

So is a loud valve a loose valve? I can definitely still hear some valvetrain I think its exhaust side. Can't wait to open her up again tomorow

More loose is better than tight-ish. Even if it's just a hair noisier.
