Valvetrain question

Default Valvetrain question

I just got a new head and I'm adding super-tech components. I am moving over my old camshaft and rocker assembly and cam towers into the new head. Now as I'm checking parts guides to make sure I have everything, on Majestic honda, I do not see the option to buy cam bearings.

Do we not use cam bearing on our cars?


This seems odd to me if we didn't, so I have to ask those more knowledgeable about it.

Also there are something they call "motion, lost".. its part #10. Aren't these valve guides?

No cam bearings. Cams ride directly on the cam caps.

Lost motion springs are the springs that keep the middle VTEC rocker in contact with the cam during non-VTEC use.

Guides are #1 and #2, pressed into the head.
