Vortech and Comptech SC's
6-8 psi safely with stock internals, I can get away with just the VAFC, but they recommend the AEM EMS, they tune the crap out of that thing with the laptop. They showed the showed the owner of the 240sx how to make map changes on the fly at track events. he has a greedy boost controller that is on the steering wheel low boost is at 15psi and 30psi at high boost. he now has toda cams and nitros, re-dyno'd at 660+rwhp. this is the fastest KA turbo 240SX in the US. The car was on Ebay, the seller works for the same company as I do. I know him very well. He turned me on to talking to them. He feels very strong about them and is going with me at the first get together to plan and build.
they are very committed to me, cause I would be the 1st turbo S in DFW, if not in Texas. And it will take me a good month or 2 put back the 6K and have it free for non-priority activities, such as this. They will start working on fabricating the set up with no deposit all on their own $$ if they can't do it, no cost to me.
the first set up will be a "bolt-on" custom turbo. I am thinking about going with a small turbo so that it will spool up real quick, mainly for auto-x. I plan to run in the SCCA solo 2 next year and other SCCA events, their courses are small, so I feel it would be a good application.
0-100 or 110 should be a good as kicking on the highway or in any case, no need to go any faster. on a open safe area outside of town anyway..ahahaha

which games?
s2000coupe,
be humble about yourself, it is hard, I know, people ask me what I do and say nothing, I am unemployed, cause I don't want to act as if I am boasting.
sorry for taking my hard feelings out on you. You are the rarity of few that are out there. Congrats on your success and keep creating those games. Due to test drive, need 4 speed and other driving games, I kick ass at the track, 4 track events, and I am with in .5 seconds of 5 + yr veterans.

yes the programmable aem ems/ecu, I believe, that is what the tuner suggests, it has unlimited capabilities at least that is what they say.
ems and ecu are the same or different items. I have been learning more and more about import tuning since the purchase of the S. please explain if not one in the same.
thanks

s2000coupe, do a search for AEM EMS. It received a lot of hype on this board when it first came out. Hams2000 gained 30 RWHP from it, by tuning his Toda cams and a few bolt ons, while wesmaster lost several HP off of his SC application. It seems to be a worthwhile device in the hands of a skilled tuner. It involves a lot of software and a laptop, rather than a reprogrammed ecu of sorts...
Heres the deal with the Aem ecu you can do anything with it BUT you need to have someone do it that you trust!!!!!!!!!!! It will get expensive if you dont. I got rid of the black box that comes wiht the kit and it runs sooo much better wiht out it. almost gone but still needs a little work as far as worth it do you have aobut 2500 for the computer and the tunning If so go for it. So depends where you want to go.. I am happy with it thow. This week we are going to try to up the boost and bigger injectors and the aem computer is going to help alot. i will keep every body posted:-) final goal 15lbs :-) and we are going to rebuld the motor with in the year.
Cmis2k I have worked on disney's stitch experiment 626 and one that you have heard of tokyo xtreme racer zero and i am working on a really cool game now but i cant really talk about it :-( sorry anyway thanks jason

Back to the subject, I ordered my Vortech today......Am looking into a top mount intercooler I can use with a modified CF hood....Less weight, less plumbing...
-Make any sence?
-When I was 17, my car was an '81 Escort GL with a GT motor and a dented door......Motor swaps were cool back then, too!

1. more boost
2. aftercooler
3. piggyback ecu
4. more power
5. same price if not cheaper
6. bypass valve
As for the install it does take longer, thats because you get so much more then the comptech unit. The problems that came up with the vortech kit such as timing issue, crank pulley holes, water bracket have been fixed. If you order the kit now you shouldn't have any problems with it. IMO more bang for the buck.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought you only need a bypass valve if you boost over 6lbs, which is what the comptech kit is boosting. Also looking at the comptech kit, I don't remember seeing one. Maybe I'm wrong.
