If you look at the instructions on their site, step 16 covers the installation of the bypass valve. Or, you can ask me as I installed my Comptech SC on Friday

Oh, and for the record, I think both kits are fantastic. I went with Comptech because of the ease of installation. With a helper, I installed the Comptech in 8 hours. Regarding price, I don't know what the price is on a Vortech, but a Comptech kit can be had from AutoCarParts.com for $4591.00 + shipping.

The issues with the clutch and rear diff has me a bit concerned but I have to take all this with a grain of salt. I don't want to sound like I'm picking on "s2000coupe" just because he's young. I was young once (a million years ago ) and I still remember driving my cars and beating the crap out of them. Could this have something to do with the "weakness" and failures of these parts? I see quite a few more "mature" owners of S/C cars and they have gone thousands and thousands of miles with the stock parts before feeling anything odd.

the stock clutch has problems handing stock power.

I would definitely upgrade the clutch. the rear end needs more reinforcement, I would drive on that until it started to fail.

top mount intercooler- I saw a WRX under the hood for the first time and that is what they have. I could see that working under a S. But it would have to be small, like the vortech. would the top of the intercooler be sticking through or elevated up through the hood? I would be interested in seeing some schismatic on that design.

superchargersonline.com sells the vortech for $4325.00 free ups ground shipping.

Can someone explain for me what you mean by clutch splippage, and also what the rear differential problem is?

I am clueless about all this. I think the clutch slippage is something that happened to me once when in my old car my clutch was hot..and when I gave a lot of gas my RPMs went up but my speed did not go up appropriately.

Also what the heck is a rear end differential?

Thanks.

xviper - I think you are correct. The reason the older people don't break things is because in general they drive like they are older people. Of course there are exceptions.

SKREEMR - Why would you want a top mount IC? Thats foolish. They dont work great on the WRX so why would it work well on an S. You can get a FMIC for under $600 so why waste your time with a less efficient top mount?

More on the diff. I agree that I think it is the casing. I think it is more related to pinion gear deflection under torque than the diff bearing caps. I believe that it is possible to build an external brace that would help keep everything in check. Hopefully someone will come up with a solution. I don't think the current "solutions" on the market are really solving anything.
