Vortech and Comptech SC's
IMHO the stock clutch can't even hold the stock power well for high performance driving. Its great for normal street driving but bang it around a lot then bang around a good aftermarket clutch and you'll see the performance difference. A good example would be the 1-2 shift at redline. With the stock clutch you can chirp the tires. With a good aftermarket clutch you can spin them. I could even tell the difference between my first clutch with 5k on it and the TSB clutch. Im not sure if the pressure plate isnt strong enough or the disc isnt grippy enough. Its fine for 99.9% of the people out there though.
You certainly do read between the lines. I never said you had never been to the track or didn't drive hard. The fact is that the stock clutch does not hold power well including the stock power. It has been proven. If you don't like it then fine. Tell your story to those who have eaten stock clutches on the dyno testing their new superchargers out and to those who consitently run better times on aftermarket clutches. The stock clutch may be just what you need but for some of us it just doesnt cut it.
