Default VSA Problems / Clutch install.

Ok, im posting this because i am at a loss, and my buddy is going to end up spending a crap ton of money on diagnosing this if i dont find a solution, or at least a way to diagnose the problem.

The skinny:

07 S2000 - Kraftwerks SC Kit (~10 Lbs.)

Hence the reason that he needed and upgraded clutch.

So, we followed the '03 Shop manual process in order to remove the tranny, replace clutch, etc. Except for one step. Ill explain that in a sec.
We had no problems (aside from tight spaces due to the oil filter relocation and all that.) got the tranny in, got the clutch out, new clutch in, tranny on. No pinched wires that i could see. All seemed well.

So i tell him to start the car. When he does this, the gauge cluster, and all of the lights start to pulse really fast and he cant start the car. We narrowed this down to the Rear Window defogger switch. Upon inspection, he finds a pulled contact on the harness side of the switch. After that is fixed, all seems well; The gauges work fine, no pulsing, no relay clicking, etc.

Then he takes it for a test drive.
He said that once he shifted into second gear, the VSA and ABS indicator came on (indicating a problem.)

We got the DTC codes 27 and 86.
27 being the Steering Angle Sensor
86 being an ECM communication error.

Finding out that there was no way for us to clear the codes without an HDS, he took it to his friend at acura to diagnose the problem.

Consequently, his friend found that the Steering angle sensor had actually gone bad. So he overnighted a new sensor and had it installed the next day.
After it was installed, they took it for a test drive and everything seemed to be ok... until my buddy was driving his car home. About halfway there (approx. 30 miles) the lights came on again.
So he took it to the same acura dealership to have it looked at. After 4 hours, they finally told him that he had to take it to a honda shop to have them find the problem.

The point that i wanted to "explain later" : there was one connector that we missed when we dropped the motor. It was the gray connector that went to the steering rack.( im assuming its for the electronic steering assist. )

So here is my question.

Is it really feasible that that ONE plug was stressed enough to a) cause the vsa to malfunction, b) cause a short that fried 2 Steering Angle Sensors?

I really have a hard time believing it...
Anyone have any other ideas?

any questions... just ask. im sure i missed something in this post that i have an answer to that may help you help me

thanks guys/gals!

My honest opinion would be 90% chance you have an issue with that connector.
I would inspect pin fit, if you know how to use a digital multi meter, you can check resistance across the connector.

good luck
