Default whine noise

in my MY01 i hear a slight wine sound sometimes with the radio all the way down and the heat off. i was wondering if this is anything i should be worried about or not? i have 55k on my s2000. i have launched maybe a total or 10 times in the car. in the last 5k but i dont really plan on laucnghing it anytime soon, and those where street launchs not track. so i did more spining then anything. im wondering if that wine sound is my diff on its way out? thanks in advance.

Need more info. Engine off or on? Moving or stopped? In gear or out of gear? Under load or no load? Clutch in or out? Speed dependent?

My guess would be your hearing simple gear whine. Its typical in manual cars esp when the gearbox is about 3 feet from your ears
