Default whine/whistle

i heard it could be the gear box but im not sure. is this bad? also it seems louder after installing a aem v2, but was there before. i know the intake makes a whistle noise but the before noise came from near the back of the car

I think you need to provide something more descriptive than just a whine/whistle. Maybe a video w/ sound? It could be wind noise, engine noise, cat in the engine bay, etc.

I guess my point is you need to be more specific. Is it dependent on vehicle speed? Is it dependent on engine speed? Does the pitch change? Does the loudness change? A whine and a whistle are two different things. One originates from air flow, the other one originates mechanically. Which does it sound like?

You said the before noise originated from the back before you got the intake. So does it originate from somewhere else after you got the intake? Are you hearing whistling from the intake plus a whine from the gear box maybe?

its a high pitch noise almost like a dog whistle, but very slight. once u hear it, it gets pretty annoying. the pitch does not change, and usually noticeable during highway speeds
