Default Why supercharge?

Can someone explain to me why I should consider supercharging my s2k at a price of about $5000.00? It does not seem to change 0-60 or 1/4 mile times that much. Maybe I am missing something because I am not too familiar with how it is supposed to perform. Will it make my s2k compete with a corvette or M3? Just curious on what to expect.

Really depends on what you want.

I like to take my car to open track days. I've got the suspension pretty well dialed in, sticky tires, and can hang in the corners with most anything. I hate, however, not being able to power past some cars in the straights, or loosing ground to higher HP Z06's, 996's, etc. For these reasons, I'm considering a new Vortech supercharger.

For drag racing, why just buy a new Mustang Cobra? Even if you can get the power up, the S2000 launch is still tricky as hell and the clutch/diff not great for that kind of shock load.

...because to some people, power is something they can't get enough of.

The S is a lot more fun to drive with SC. The extra power is obvious. At this time it's the only CARB legal option.
