Default Windshield Dam

Guys, I've just had the rear windscreen glass replaced on my OEM hard top. The fitters ordered the glass and the rubber molding, but they didn't order the multiple windshield dams or spacers. I asked and they said they weren't required. Does anyone know if I will suffer any problems because of this e.g. misted glass or rattling noises? I don't know what their purpose is.

These are the missing parts:
  • 73224-S2A-000 - Rubber, Rr. Windshield Side Dam
  • 73225-S2A-000 - Rubber, Rr. Windshield Dam
(Parts 3, 4, & 5 on this diagram: Honda online store : 2000 s2000 roof panel (hardtop) parts)

Cheers
