wiper blade life?

Default wiper blade life?

just wondering how long do the oem wiper blades usualy last. i have had mine on the car since i bought it which was over a year and a half ago and they still work amazing.

if it aint broke dont fix it But it usually depends on the weather - i.e. here in texas during the summer i go through them like candy on my civic because the heat makes them crack.

Wipers are good until the rubber gets dry/hardens. Then you'll find that it doesn't wipe the glass completely dry. I'm only a stone's throw away from you (same weather), and mine are ready to be replaced after exactly 18 months. They still work fine in the rain, but they leave more smudges/streaks than I like if the windshield is only damp. For me, that's time for new rubber strips. FYI, they can be bought for ~$5 from several board sponsors, I piggybacked a set on my oil filter order. Locally, I think Rick Case charges $15 to replace them for you-a bit high, IMHO.
