We just booked a 7 day Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Epic. We leave on March 31. My son's spring break doesn't line up with my daughters (he's in college), so we are taking one of my daughters friends.

Just reserved a cute little place in the Blue Hill area in Maine. We've been to Maine often and have not spent time in that area. One of the Y ladies recommended it to me. We'll be there in mid September after most of the tourists are gone. It's not far from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Looking forward to it, even though I don't want to rush the calendar to the month of September.

If it was closer I be booking the 3rd week of June. Looks great for $1,300 wk. That's just the kind of place we like. I'm surprised how booked up it is early in the year. It does stay cold there in April and May, right?

April is pretty fickle in New England. May can be nice but still cool. Last time we were up that way was in the month of June (mid month). We had some nice days, but most days did require a jacket which we don't mind at all.

Lainey, Bill and right coast friends, the +1 and are are attending a wedding on a Sunday at the end of May. It will be at a "farm" about 45 miles south of Boston, between the towns of Berkely and Somerset. We have hotel reservations, so we must tether ourselves to Raynham each night. But we have the Friday and Saturday before Memorial Day to do as we please. We could go west to Providence, or east to Cape Cod, or do both different days. Doesn't look like far to drive either way. We have been to the Cape Cod area in the 90s, don't remember much about it. Anything special on Martha's Vineyard? I'm looking for suggestions of day trips in both directions, must see areas or towns, and a favorite restaurant you hit every time you go there. Remember we cannot stay the night either place, and the traffic could be a concern as it is at the start of Memorial Day weekend. So what do you want to tell me? (thank you in advance).

We avoid Cape Cod from that weekend until Labor Day. The traffic. Bill might have suggestions as far as the Cape. You can take the ferry from the Cape to Martha's Vineyard, you can't cover too much ground on Martha's Vineyard in one day unless you rent a car there. The busses provide easy transportation, but that can be time consuming. We wanted to get to the other side of the island on a visit there a couple years ago, and we just didn't have enough time. You'd have to decide what you want to see and how to budget your time. PS It's probably too late to make a reservation to bring your own vehicle. Note: some towns are dry towns.

There is a way to avoid Cape Traffic and take the Fast Ferry out of New Bedford (city I grew up in and work in) The downtown area is really up and coming with a few nice restaurants as well. New Bedford is not far from Raynham at all. I'd recommend reservations if you want to go on the ferry. It is a passenger ferry only.

Newport RI is always nice. You can visit a few of the mansions, walk on the Cliff Walk and grab lunch overlooking the water on Thames Street. Plenty of shops if the +1 is so inclined. If time permits only one mansion, the Breakers is the most popular, the Marble House is popular as well.
